Kelso and the Scottish Borders.

Kersmains Cottage and The Bothy are situated on our beautiful farm, just 3 miles from the cobbled town of Kelso.

Kelso itself is a bustling town with many shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, and is, as Sir Walter Scott once described it "the most beautiful, if not the most romantic village in Scotland". There is plenty to see and do throughout the year here in the Scottish Borders- here is a taster of what's coming up....

Kelso Races
We are lucky to have Kelso Racecourse (voted "Britain's Friendliest Course") on our doorstep, with race meetings running from September to May every year. Kelso Races is a great family day out with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Why not book a stay with us, and enjoy a day at the races at one of their upcoming meetings;

Golfing
The championship Roxburghe Golf Course lies just the other side of the River Teviot and can be seen along the River Teviot walk, and is only a 10 minute drive from Kersmains. Other nearby golf courses include Kelso, Lilliardsedge, Minto, The Hirsel and Duns to name just a few!

Fishing
The River Tweed boasts some of the best Salmon fishing in the world, and guess what- it is just minutes from Kersmains! We have ample space at the farm to store fishing rods/equipment and our welly room with Belfast sink in the cottage is the ideal place to leave your wet gear, wash up and prepare to relax by the fire after a long day fishing. Fishing is also available on the River Teviot, which can be accessed by foot from Kersmains. The Jedforest Angling Association can offer fishing on the River Teviot throughout the year.
